Since I am a Utah resident and I continue to delve deeply into the Utah coffee scene, the names Ron Ford and Black Feather Roasters keep coming up. While there are many different coffee roasters in the state of Utah, this particular one seems to have quite the reputation. After briefly talking with Ford via Facebook, I can see why he's receiving so much attention.
This man is working to build his business the old-fashioned way through hard work and love for what he does on a daily basis. You will find him selling his delicious blends at the farmer's market in Ogden or through his website. When you see him and all his bags of beans and grounds, I recommend that you stop and pick up a few.
I have not had the opportunity to try any of his countless blends available in whole beans or grounds, but I fully intend to do so in the future. You also have the option to open a wholesale account or purchase a t-shirt to represent this up and coming brand. I was surprised to find that he's even selling empty burlap coffee bags.
For a limited time, you have the option to order a 4.5 pound sampler of his greatest blends. At the price he's charging, you would be hard pressed to find high quality coffee that's as affordable anywhere else. .Regardless of the price, you should take every opportunity to support a local artisan that's trying to make a splash in an otherwise crowded marketplace.
